Magical experience!
Magical experience!

My friend and I wanted to do a last minute trip to Sounio and the Temple of Poseidon before we left the next day back to Los Angeles. Greeking.me was able to book us an amazing private tour down the coast to the temple. It was perfect timing to catch the sun setting. Our driver, Michael, was most accommodating and really helped make the tour extra special. Everything was perfect and we couldn't have asked for a better experience! Thank you!

We booked four tours with Greeking.me [Night tour, Foodies, Acropolis and Cape Sounion]. All four guides were super - Penelope, Marialena, Eva and Alexandra - professional, knowledgeable, interesting and fun. Take a look at the posted tours and bear in mind that you can customize them. We were able to combine the Acropolis and Anafiotika tours, and be dropped off at the airport after the Cape Sounion tour.

Nikos, the owner of Greeking.me, is quick to respond and eager to help you have an unforgettable visit to Athens. He has put together a thoughtful and eclectic selection of tours. We traveled in March, which is a great time to visit Greece if you're not seeking the sun [in the 50s and 60s]. The sights are not crowded and it was comfortable to walk for a few hours [Athens is hilly]. Next time I visit Athens, I will make sure I am there for a Friday night, so I can sign up for the Greek dancing evening!

Athens comes alive!

We were a group of 10, who booked 2 one day tours to get an introduction to Greece and Athens prior to departing on a cruise. We couldn't have been happier. First, Anna and Nikos, the cofounders of the company, spent a considerable amount of time exchanging emails to help me develop an itinerary that would give us a good balance of the "must see" sites with a taste of what life is like for local Athenians. The end result was enjoyable, comprehensive and very reasonably priced.
Day 1, we toured the Acropolis, Acropolos Museum, had lunch at a local taverna under pomegranate and lime trees, did a minivan overview tour of the city, and ended with a lovely picnic in the National Gardens. A long but fantastic day.
Day 2, we started with a walking tour of the Ancient Agora, then a luxury bus tour to Sounio, with a stop for lunch at a fish taverna right by the sea. I originally wondered about whether so much time on the bus was the best use of our day but we were all so glad we did this. The time on the bus was a wonderful chance to ask a million questions about any topic we wanted and the bus ride gave us a sense of Greek life outside Athens. The Temple of Sounio (Temple of Poseidon) was spectacular. As wonderful as all the sites were, the star of the 2 days was our guide, Sofia. I have taken many guided tours and can say without hesitation that she is a world class tour guide. Impeccable English, an incredible wealth of knowledge and a great sense of humour. An archeologist herself, her excitement about her city was contagious. No boring recitation of facts and dates - everything was woven into fascinating stories about ancient (and modern Athenians), Greek Gods, and how it has all come together in this fascinating city. We left feeling that we had made a new and treasured friend.
Thank you, Sofia and GreekingMe for a memorable two days.
