Gladiators, and Gelato: A Family Trip to Naples, Rome, Athens & the Peloponnese

On your third day, you will have a ticket to ride, and you can sit back and relax on the train as you make your way to Rome.

Once you arrive in 'The Eternal City,' we will take you to a fabulous hotel in the heart of town, where you will call home for the next three nights.

The next morning, you will take the ultimate tour of two of Rome’s most timeless landmarks: the Colosseum and the Roman Forum!

Specially designed for families with children aged six and up, this tour lets you relive ancient Rome's glory, including cool multimedia enhancements.

You can follow in the footsteps of emperors and gladiators. And since this tour includes expedited entry, everyone can have more fun at the Colosseum and spend less time waiting in line.

On day 5, you will enjoy the ultimate VIP experience with a special Vatican City tour. You will visit the Vatican Museums, including the Courtyard of the Pinecones, the Gallery of the Statues, the Gallery of the Tapestries, and the Gallery of the Maps.

While the exhibits and collections at the Vatican Museums can cover some heavy subjects, your guide will make sure to make your trip fun and enjoyable for the whole family.

In addition, you will go to the Sistine Chapel and see Michaelangelo’s world-famous ceiling frescoes for yourselves!

On your sixth day, you will have to leave Italy. But this is only because it will be time for you to come to Greece!

We will pick you up at your hotel in Rome, then we will take you to the airport, so you can catch your flight to Athens. We will also arrange your transportation from Athens Airport to your new hotel here.

The next morning, we will bring you along on a tour of the Acropolis that’s specially designed for the whole family to enjoy.

We will share many of the fascinating stories of the iconic Parthenon temple, plus you will discover more of the real history behind the legends involving the Temple of Nike, the Erechtheion, the sacred olive tree, and additional famous monuments throughout the Acropolis.

Our tour includes an expert guide, fascinating puzzles, informational material that will be sent to you after the conclusion of the tour via email, and even an app experience where you can see the Acropolis as it looked during ancient times!

On day 8, you will be leaving Athens to do more adventures and experience more of Greece in the Peloponnese peninsula.

Located southwest of Athens, the Peloponnese is chock full of incredible ancient history and timeless natural beauty. We will provide your transportation from Athens to Nafplio, then you will check into your new hotel here.

The following day, we will send you on an exciting tour of the historic archaeological sites of Mycenae and Epidaurus.

At Mycenae, you will discover the Lion Gate, which served as the gateway to the Bronze Age citadel that used to stand here, as well as the impressive Tomb of Clytemnestra and the Treasury of Atreus.

At Epidaurus, you will make your way to the Sanctuary of Asclepius and the Ancient Theatre, which are so monumental that they became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1988.

Following your day trip, we will bring all of you back to the hotel for the night.

Though we’re reaching the final leg of your trip, you will still have plenty more to see and do in the Peloponnese!

From Nafplio, we will provide you with a private transfer to Kalamata. Perhaps you’ve heard of the olives growing here, but there’s much more to see and do beyond the olive trees! Once you check in to your hotel in town, you will soon be able to see for yourselves.

On day 11, you will ascend to new heights at the ancient birthplace of the Olympics!

At Olympia, you will see why this was a major religious sanctuary for ancient Greece, plus you will tour the archaeological sites where ancient Olympic games were held as early as the eighth century BCE.

You won’t have to run any races here, but we won’t fault you and the kids for declaring yourselves the champions as we retrace the moves of ancient Greece’s most storied athletes.

For your final full day in Greece, we will take you on a fascinating tour of the Messinian countryside.

Discover verdant mountains, dazzling beaches, charming villages, and much more as you experience this special corner of the Peloponnese peninsula that tourists often overlook, yet never disappoint those who journey here.

Though your time with us will come to an end, we will close out this trip by providing comfortable and timely transportation from your hotel to the airport, so everyone can make it home safely and on time.
